AppLoop is an advertising and analytics solution for mobile applications. Founded by two regular guys (Eric Kerr & Jacob Eiting) in the Silicon Valley, AppLoop provides a rich, analytics-based service for advertisers and developers looking to engage with mobile platforms.
With the new iPhone 3G from Apple about to debut in July 11th 2008, the release of their iPhone Developer Program & SDK for Developers and third-party companies have helped them to make use of the possibilities that GPS and Wireless 3G offers.
AppLoop, provides analytics tracking and distribution of advertising for iPhone 3G Apps. By making use of GPS capability of iPhone 3G, AppLoop will tell when a consumer is close to a specified business address and then serve up ads for that business accordingly. This enables businesses and restaurants to attract nearby consumers to their location with promotions, coupons, and discounts.
This information tracked is used for their mobile analytics, a comprehensive set of statistics for developers to keep track of usage, users location and their session information. AppLoop, also makes it possible by reporting which feature of the app was most used by user using their custom action logging.
AppLoop also provides information on location-based usage and their session information which is helpful to understand and track how an application is being used in a region. These insight data from their iPhone Analytics Solutions helps advertisers better target their audience for advertising and also helps developer to enhance their app accordingly by engaging with their users better.
AppLoop was founded in June of 2008 by Eric Kerr and Jacob Eiting with one simple goal in mind: Make advertising not suck.
Other startup that launched recently which provides iPhone Analytics Solutions is PinchMedia, offers similar iPhone Analytics solution with location-based statistics along with their usage and session data, similar to what AppLoop.
PinchMedia however do not have the feature of custom action logging that AppLoop seem to provide, making it unique and attractive options for app developer.
Other iPhone and Mobile Analytics solutions provider SOMA (Smaato’s Open Mobile Advertising), which provides analytics and advertising solutions for iPhone 3G and Mobile Applications. But on other hand do not offer the Location-Based advertisements that AppLoop offers.
The growth of Mobile Analytics and with introduction of iPhone Analytics are extending the possibilities of Web Analytics to Wireless & Beyond.
