zembly a service from Sun Microsystems that allows developers to create and publish Social Applications will now automatically receive Sometrics, social analytics data to help them understand their audiences and boost traffic and revenue, both parties announced today.
All apps built with zembly will have analytics enabled by Sometrics’ groundbreaking social analytics solution, which was created expressly to track and analyze traffic, demographics, interests and actions within the social web. Sometrics goes beyond typical analytics to track social actions after ads are served, helping developers know exactly who’s engaging and optimize their ad networks accordingly to increase revenue.
Zembly is the world’s first development environment for Facebook, OpenSocial, Meebo and other social platforms. At zembly.com, the act of creating applications is itself social—working together with friends and thousands of other people, users reuse pieces within zembly and on the web to create social applications. Once an application is ready to be deployed, zembly hosts and scales it to any number of users.

Sometrics is a cross-platform, one-stop-shop, aggregating data from any social networking or community-based site, big or small. zembly developers will start seeing the Sometrics analytics data in the coming weeks.
“Zembly truly embraces the ‘social’ in social networking, with its collaborative approach that makes it easy for anyone to build applications,” said Ian Swanson, Sometrics co-founder and CEO. “It’s a great place for developers, and we’re thrilled to be part of the community by sharing with developers our social intelligence – relevant analytics and the tools they need to put that data to good use.”
“Reliable, in-depth analytics data is the critical piece developers need to help them build a thriving community and increase engagement with their applications,” said Todd Fast, zembly CTO. “Sometrics is all about enabling the developer to get a unique perspective on the usage and spread of their applications. We love what Sometrics is doing – the company’s approach is extremely developer-friendly and fits perfectly with our mission of providing a collaborative place for developers to put their creativity to work.”
Developers will also have the option to couple the analytics tool with Sometrics’ social ad platform, which serves ads and hyper-targets them by demographics, geography and social interests (music, sports, etc.).
